TFM-Northfield-VermontSpeakers:

  • Steven Atherton
  • Charles Hocker

Scriptures used:

  • Ephesians 4:21-32
  • Hebrews 6:4-6
  • 1 Corinthians 10
  • Psalm 12:6-7
  • 1 Peter 1:3-9

Subject:

  • Are you allowing the old man to come back into your life?
  • Why do I have to put off the old man? Why is it important? Why wouldn’t the Lord just put off my old man? Why do I have to continue putting off the old man? If I hadn’t had to fight the battle and reject those things, I would grab hold to those things again. If I can put them off here, in heaven where the flesh will not be dragging me down it’ll be easy to not pick those traits back up.
  • Be willing to let go of the things the Lord tells you to.
  • Why would we want anything this world has to offer? Why would I not want to put off the old man?
  • If we’re not willing to put the old man off, if we enter into heaven, we’re not going to stay allowing the old man to come with us.
  • The Lord is calling us, purging us; let us stand fast and be willing to let go of things.
  • Go forth as the Lord did.
  • Only way to go forth, is to cling to the vine and produce love, if not, we’ll be purged.
  • To all be of one mind, we have to go through the purging, the refining.
  • Desire for the fire to continue refining you.
  • The seasons of our lives give us opportunity to love others. When others are having a season, we know we too have had them.
  • The times that were the hardest brought the most precious lessons. Lessons the help us endure, go forward and minister to others to endure and go forward.
  • Learn from the experiences and choose to come through.
  • If you’ve lost the lively hope, go back to the source, Christ.
  • If you compare yourself to Jesus, are you right and justified?
  • Choose to do that which is right in the situation, even if you can’t currently see the profit.
  • Exercise yourself in faith, faith is those things you cannot see.
  • Choose the Word despite anything else, that’s faith.
  • The only way to see the power of God move is if you cleave unto Him by faith.
  • You can’t be of one mind without love and humility. We come to love by passing through the refining fire, which is God’s love.
  • Are you going to reject His love or are you going to be thankful for it?
  • Believing is a choice. Not believing is an easy choice, it doesn’t take any effort at all, it doesn’t hurt. Choosing to believe can hurt.
