TFM-Northfield-VermontSpeakers:

  • Steven Atherton
  • Robin Atherton
  • Scott Stevens

Scriptures used:

  • Isaiah 40:25-31

Subject:

  • The great transgression – as it applies to you – we begin to recognize more and more our sin.
  • We realize that we are good for nothing from the moment we draw breath.
  • There is nothing in the natural that can free us from this situation.
  • We start out in life getting everything we want from our parents.  We manipulate others to get our way.
  • We don’t get what the problem is:  me.  Jesus is the answer to the problem.
  • If everything in the natural stops, where are we then, if we don’t have the Lord?
  • We each have a responsibility to get the Word into us, and get in our prayer closet.
  • Isaiah:  Teach me Lord to wait.  Obedience through faith.
  • Elijah:  He stood against Jezebel and the prophets and slew them.  Then she was coming against him and he ran.  You can stand and do, and then you can get tired and fall back.  The Lord says that they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.
  • Elijah called upon the Lord, not in a place of strength.  The Lord renewed him and he went forth.
  • Faith worketh by love.  Love is a verb, not an adjective.  It is active, not passive.
  • If we will wait upon Him, we shall renew our strength.
  • How can you minister unto others unless you break free.  You determine and fight to break free.
  • We are afraid that people will think we are a kook.  But if we believe the Word, we are going to fight to get what is promised.
  • If we say we believe we need to step out and take that victory.
  • Show that you are a sinner saved by grace, not just say it.
  • Jesus continuously sent one person to minister to one person.  The purpose of that is for that one person ministered to, to go forward and minister to others.
  • We get hung up on trying to be important.
  • Look on the things of others, not just yourself.
  • We put out things to justify ourselves of not going forward, and idolize others, and justify ourselves that they are different than us.  The Lord is not a respecter of persons.
  • People in the churches out here are all about love being an adjective, not a verb.  It will not do anything.
  • If you love Jesus, do what he says.  Action.
