Paul the Apostle said that we glory in tribulations: knowing that tribulation worketh patience and patience, experience: and experience, hope. This is a process that we choose to submit to. If you’re not willing to let that process work in you then you will never have the gospel work in your life. That is why Paul gloried in tribulation: to have the power of the gospel work in his life and for others.
There is a popular teaching in some churches today, known as the prosperity gospel about somehow getting ahead financially. This is not the gospel of Christ. It is another gospel. Paul warned the Galatians that anyone who preached a different gospel, than that of Jesus, to let them be accursed.
Jesus said everyone that exalteth himself shall be abased (brought low or reduced): those who humble themselves shall be exalted (to be raised or lifted up). If you think in your own mind that you are better than others and think highly of yourself you will find yourself in a lot of trouble. If you humble yourself the Lord shall lift you up.
A servant is not above his master. If you are a servant of Christ then don’t be surprised when people treat you the same way people treated Him. You will not be above those things. However, to endure such things is glory unto you and unto God and the payoff for going through such things is being able to appear with Jesus in glory when He appears because your life is hid with Christ in God.
We were created to serve and glorify God. God gives us an opportunity to do what we were created to do. That ought to be a very joyful thing to us.
It’s not for us to judge others or justify ourselves because of what others are doing. How often do we look at what others are doing and judge, criticize, blame or point fingers at them because of what they’re doing instead of paying attention to what we’re doing. Look at where you are with the Lord and do not worry about what anybody else is doing.
