Subject:

  • The words that we speak come from the heart. Our words reflect how we feel, what we believe, and what we are thinking. The importance of fellowship is to have others around to recognize what we are saying and offer correction if our words or attitudes are not of the Lord. Fellowship is food for the soul. It nourishes the soul to grow closer and stronger to God. Fellowship and correction allows us to get free of the things that hold us back from the Lord. It provokes us to Love and to good works.
  • Even when Jesus was on the cross He asked His father to forgive them that demanded His death. Jesus did not show anger or make any threats and He wasn’t looking for vengeance. He was still offering forgiveness to those who had Him killed after the fact. Would you have that same attitude toward people who killed you for doing nothing wrong?
  • God referred to David as a man after His own heart. David still did some wrong things, but David also showed a great deal of compassion and forgiveness to many and it was true and from the heart. God gives us the chance to have that same heart. If you don’t get it it won’t be Gods fault.
  • The line of authority that God sets up in this world (i.e parents, bosses, military ranks, etc.) are just as important as the line of authority He sets up in His kingdom (i.e Apostles, Prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers.) They are in authority because they see a bigger picture of what is going on and know what needs to be done and who to tell to do it. That is why we need to obey them and act without question.
  • God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. By nature our hearts are full of unbelief and self. David asked God to create in Him a clean heart. We can ask God to do the same with us because we need our hearts cleansed of unbelief.
  • The key to receiving righteousness is to believe that God is and that He has the power to do what He says He will do and that He is a rewarder of them who diligently seek Him, and will complete the works in you that He started.
  • We are all sinners. Even YOU!  But Jesus made a way out of that so it doesn’t have to be held against us. It’s ok to be a sinner, you can’t help that because we are born into it. Believe that the blood of Christ has covered that sin. That’s why He died on the cross for us. The only way to avail yourself of God’s goodness is to agree with Him that He has that power.
  • Faith is shown by your works. Faith is by action. It doesn’t mean anything to say you have faith and then not do anything. Take a look at the men and women of great faith in the old testament in Hebrews ch.11.
  • Even the devils tremble at the one, true God and believe. Most people who call themselves Christians don’t even tremble at the thought of God who holds the power to cast into hell. If you think you have already earned your ticket into the Kingdom and have nothing to fear of God then really the devils have more sense than you do.
