Subject:
- Just because you started out with a desire to serve the Lord and did so does not mean that you can’t lose that desire and become unfruitful as time passes on. It doesn’t matter how much effort you put in in the past what matters is what you choose today. Yesterdays faith won’t save you today.
- Correction comes for your sake, to get rid of the wrong things you’re doing, to start doing the right things. You can take advantage of that correction and be grateful for it or you can sit back and ignore it and never see anything change.
- Each and every day we must choose to die to the old man and live for Christ. It is not a thing you choose to do once and then it’s done. It is an everyday fight until you leave this flesh.
- Don’t wait for the Lord to magically change you. What changes that make a difference is your attitude and what you choose to do about what God says.
- You need to be motivated to serve God in the actions you take not to serve yourself by doing things to bring attention to self so others will see you because you want people to think something of you.
- Serve God with gladness. It is not God who makes you glad, it is for you to choose to be glad to do it. The thrill of having the opportunity to please Him.
- A believer is to be God’s servant. God is not our servant. God does not exist to take orders from anybody. We exist to serve God.
- If you choose to accept correction and learn to receive it you will learn to better serve God and those whom He has put over you in authority.
- Take advantage of the grace that is here and now for you, while we learn and make our mistakes because there is no grace in Heaven where we will be expected to stand without any unbelief which is sin.
- It’s easy to compare ourselves with other people who we consider “bad people” and think we’re ok and good. Try comparing yourself to Jesus for a moment and you will see quickly that you don’t look so good anymore and how short you fall from God’s glory. Jesus is the standard of how we ought to live, not anyone else. When you see that then you can see to improve where you are in Christ and move to get it right.
- The hardest thing for people to do is admit they are wrong in their ways because of pride. Pride tells us that everything we do, say, or think is right because it suits us and people flat out don’t like to be told they’re wrong. If you want God to ever have anything to do with you the first place to start is to acknowledge that GOD IS RIGHT AND YOU ARE WRONG!
