Subject:

  • Christians often presume that God is on their side and that they are ok right where they are. But often the word of God is not taken seriously. Take what sounds good and leave behind what we don’t think sounds good and walk around satisfied with that.
  • Satan is always looking for whom he can devour, kill, steel from, or destroy like a roaring lion. He is a predator looking for any weakness he can find in you. Stand strong in the power and might of Jesus Christ and not give Satan a way to get to you.
  • There is a difference between the love we feel in the world in our carnal flesh and the love of God that is not of this world. The love of the world is attached to feelings and emotions while the love of God is a choice of doing or saying what is right for a person, according to Gods standards, regardless of how it makes one feel or affects their emotions.
  • When you realize you are guilty before God for choosing anything else other than Him there is grace and forgiveness for you if you acknowledge and understand your guilty. Trust and know that God is able and willing to deliver you. God understands the situations we get in to and the trouble we cause. Jesus faced all the same things we face yet without sin. He knows the situation we are born in, born into a cursed earth and pride, and understands. That is why He has grace and mercy for us and is there to help us. Cast all your cares upon him because He cares for you
  • When the light of Jesus shines on us it reveals the pride that is in us and makes us very uncomfortable in the flesh. Pride feels good to us and therefore we resist coming to the light. Need to get over that and prefer Jesus over pride regardless of how it makes us feel.
  • We need to have our hearts checked to know whether we are about Gods business and His will or if we are about our own will and our own ways. If we turn to Jesus we can have our rebellion turned around and get out of the darkness and turn to the light. We will find that all to often we are in rebellion more than we would like to think. God knows our hearts and nothing is hid from Him. Turn to God and find out where you fall short and get it turned around.
  • If you are willing to give up all that you have to serve the Lord He will return to you more than you could ask or think things that are profitable or ok to have by His standards. He will not return to you the things that are harmful or were a stumbling block to you. That is the goodness of God watching out for you.
  • If you make plans to do a thing are you asking the Lord if it is of His will that you do it or are you determined to do it no matter what? If God calls upon you to do a thing while you are on your way to do your own thing, are you willing to stop and change directions and do what God asks of you or ignore God and continue on your way. We should always be saying, If the Lord will, we shall do this or that.
  • Your hope should always be in Jesus. Placing your hope in anything else or anyone else will only lead to disappointment. A hope in Christ will not be a disappointment.
