Subject:

• The events that are recorded in Luke 2 of the shepherd receiving the message from the Angel of the Lord concerning the birth of Jesus is remarkable to say the least.  This was truly a message of good tidings and great joy to all people. God had delivered to us a Savior, Jesus Christ, to pay the price on the cross for our sins, for us to have a chance at eternal life where there is no other chance.  The birth of Christ was the most fantastic event in the worlds history.
• Do not think that belonging to God means you are something special and that God will just hand you everything and baby you with whatever you want.  God is a loving, kind, and gracious Father who wants to give those who are His good things but there is responsibility on our part to believe, and obey God in order to receive.
• Believing that Jesus is real is not enough.  Even the devils believe that Jesus is real and they will still end up in hell.  Having faith in Jesus is a good start but faith without works is dead.
• All the good things that God gives us and provides for us is often unnoticed and leads to being ungrateful because our wicked flesh is never satisfied and is always looking at the things we don’t have or don’t get.  There are a thousand good things the Lord does for us in a day but we tend to think about the one thing we don’t like.  Get it turned around and thank the Lord more and complain less and then learn not to complain at all.  Stop blaming God and start being grateful to God and watch the Lord move and better things happen.
• Every man is given a measure of faith.  Faith is given to us by God for the purpose of believing Him.  Everybody has faith in something (i.e self, money, education, false gods, government, etc.)  The million dollar question is… Where is your faith being put?  In Jesus, or anything else.
• When Peter and John met the lame (crippled) man at the gate called beautiful, they did not give him silver or gold, but rather shared with him what they did have.  The healing power of Christ to cause him to stand and walk.  But this did not happen without the mans actions of actually putting the effort into standing.  Believing is only the first step you need to actually MOVE in belief to see things happen.  God wasn’t going to float that man in the air and move his legs for him.
