TFM-Hour-of-TruthSpeakers:

  • Paul Muller
  • Phillip Walthall

Scriptures used:

  • 2 Timothy 3:5
  • Philippians 1:6
  • Philippians 2:12-14
  • Philippians 4:6-9

Subject:

  • Looking at Peter the Apostle, when he came to the man who was lame from birth that laid at the gate of the temple said unto him “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.” And the man received strength in his feet and ankle bones and walked into the temple. This is the same Peter that denied Jesus in the Gospel, but after the Holy Ghost came upon him in the book of ACTS he was now able to walk in the power thereof.   This is the same power of God that we have the opportunity to walk in and should be. He has given us the tools needed to do so. Telling the man to stand and walk wasn’t to prove himself, it was to show the people proof of the power of God.
  • Having a form of godliness, but denying the power of God: from such turn away. What good will it do you or anybody else if you seem to be godly but don’t walk in the power of God for people to witness.
  • Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. No one can work out your salvation with Christ for you nor can you do it for anyone else. Your salvation is between you and Him alone.
  • Seek Gods council as to what you can do to please Him and He will show you.
  • Do all things without murmurings and disputings. Don’t complain about having to do anything. Only thank God for the opportunity to get to do it.
  • There is no form of godliness that is acceptable to God. The only thing that is acceptable to God is the blood of Jesus Christ. Trying to look holy or act holy is nothing but living under the law such as the Pharisees or the Galatians thinking you can do works to be acceptable to God. We can do nothing to earn the cleansing power of the blood of Christ.
  • Paul the Apostle instructs the Philippians to think on the things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, and are of good report. If we do these things then the God of peace will be with you. Trust God to bring you to a place where your heart is completely sold out to Him and get all other things purged out of you.
  • Be careful for nothing. Don’t worry about the things you need or want. God will provide you with what you need and will also give you things you want to enjoy. God wants to show His love for you by giving things to you to enjoy. God seeks to give to those who are His who are seeking to please Him the desires of their heart. That is what a loving father does for His children. God wants us to let our requests be known unto Him. JUST ASK!
