Subject:
- We are bought by Jesus’ blood, but He doesn’t take your life until you commit it to Him. God didn’t take Jesus’ life when He died on the cross, Jesus surrendered His life.
- God is a gentleman, He doesn’t just take your life, even though He could.
- He died for you when you were at your worst and yet doesn’t take your life from you until you surrender it to Him.
- We wrestle not against flesh and blood and then God tells us how to battle in Ephesians 6:13-18.
- We walk forward in His power, His ability, by faith in Him, not in ourselves.
- First thing you have to do is believe against what you can see, it’s called faith.
- Choose to check if what you think lines up with the Word of God or not. If it doesn’t, throw it away. If it does, find out where it lines up and read it, meditate on it and build on that and increase your faith.
- If you don’t put on the armor you will be killed. You have a much better chance of survival if you put on the armor of God.
- The key to the armor is being in Jesus. It’s not your own armor, it is God’s armor and you wear it by being in Jesus.
- Christians see the commandments of the Lord as grand suggestions or optional and not as mandatory.
- When you make the things of God optional to justify yourself not doing them you put yourself on the wide path to destruction.
- The Bible tells us to examine ourselves whether we be in the faith. The Bible talks about those who doeth the truth cometh to the light. These are not things you do optionally, if you love God and want to follow God these are things you will choose to do.
- God knows sometimes we don’t have the want to to do the right thing. That’s why the Word says in Philippians 2:13 “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure”.
- As a technical tennis player Rick was a better player, he served better, hit the ball harder and was technically better, but he lost 9 out of 10 times because Steve determined to win regardless and would push through to win. Most Christians don’t fight and push through.
- We don’t wear armor because it’s the latest fad, we wear armor because we’re in a war.
- We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but we wrestle against something. When we wrestle we are in physical contact with another to try and not lose grip and keep your hold and put the other person into submission.
- We as Christians have to engage in the battle.
- The word “we” has become a cop-out so we’re waiting for someone else to do it so we can join along.
- When you stand before God there’s no “we”, there’s you and God. Your choices have no impact on me, but I hope you determine to do what the Lord has called you to do despite what others do or do not do.
- I cannot wait for you to do the right thing, you have to choose to do the right thing.
- The Bible says Jesus loved the man who said to Him “Good master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?”. Jesus let the man walk away even though the man went away sorrowful. How many times do we not allow someone to walk away sorrowful because we want to make them feel better or lessen the seriousness of what the Lord is showing them.
- Matthew 7:24 says “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them…” these are not suggestions, they are requirements and are mandatory.
- It is critical that our house be built upon a rock because we will have wrestling matches – the enemy throws doubt bombs and half the time we miss it – and if we are not on the rock we will fall WHEN the rains and floods come, it’s not IF, it’s WHEN the storms blow and floods come.
- Have you been left shipwrecked or are you standing on the rock when the storm has gone?
- We struggle because we do not choose to stand and flip the switch to simply obey, have faith and be turned on for God.
- The sacrifice of God, the gift of Jesus Christ, the blood of Jesus Christ took it ALL away. That’s what our faith needs to be on. I choose to believe it and hope you choose to believe it too, but I’m not going to wait around to figure out if you want to get on board. I don’t want to miss out on any more.
