Subject:
- Walking in the Spirit.
- Mens Bible Study: 2/4/2014
- Fruit of the Spirit
- Love continued…
- Agape Love is something that is only found in Christ and by that choice we are able to walk in it.
- God bestowed that manner of love upon us when he sent His son to die on the cross.
- Jesus is the example of Agape love.
- If we have the worlds goods and there is a brother that is in need of them and give not how can we say that we love God?
- It is easy to say something and not do it.
- Jesus knew what He came to earth for, to die on a cross for everyone. All things He did in His life were in obedience to the Holy Spirit and thereby we know we can obey also.
- To dwell in the body of Christ and walk in Him is a humble thing. It is our soul and spirit that dwells in the body of Christ. You can’t remain in the body in pride.
- When Jesus Christ walked on this earth He was fully man and did the works of God by obedience to the Holy Spirit as a man.
- We can walk in obedience to the Word of God, it is by His Spirit that we are able to as Christ did.
- God does not set us up to fail, everything that He has told us to do in His word by His Spirit. We have to put aside that flesh that tells us that we can’t do it. Also receive His forgiveness when we fail in doing so.
- We can ask the Lord for all the things we need to do His will, then we need to believe Him and step out and do it. It is a walk of faith. We have to believe to do the gospel.
- Agape love is not based on the other person loving us, it is a choice. God loved us first, we should do the same for others. Certainly one another in the body.
- The first attribute of Agape Love is Joy;
- If you are walking in Agape love and have digested the gospel and have that hope, there is joy.
- Some joy is based on knowledge as in Matthew 2:10 and Luke 1:44, a knowledge of a savior.
- When people first come to know the Lord they are usually excited and joyful but the tend to wain from it, but is not something that we should wain from. It is something that we can remain in .
- When you can get a handle on the hope there is in the Lord that He will perform what He says He will. He is faithful
- But we need to fight against that unbelief and choose to stand in faith and not allow unbelief to steal our joy.
- We have to be willing to be loved in God first and then in his body and it is not based on how loveable we are. If we will choose to love one another and receive that love ourselves then there is that joy.
- We need an attitude adjustment and He is able to accomplish that.
- There is rejoicing in heaven over one soul being saved. The angels know and have seen damnation, they have also seen salvation.
- True knowledge, digested knowledge brings joy.
- If you believe there is a joy.
- The faith in Jesus Christ and the knowledge that He is able that is what we need to grab hold of to walk in that joy.
- Why did Jesus come to earth and die on the cross? For the joy that was set before Him for our salvation.
