Only a Mountain by Jason Castro is a great song … we limit ourselves by what we see, think, feel instead of remembering the Word and determining that we CAN do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens us.
The Word of God is our OFFENSE. The Shield of Faith is our DEFENSE.
Offering of your flesh will never be acceptable to the Lord.
Genesis 4:6-7 says 6 “And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.” The Lord told Cain if he did well then he would be accepted.
Cain was upset because his service wasn’t accepted but it was not ever going to be because it was a cursed offering.
In Romans 13:3-4 it says that if we do what is right we will receive praise. “For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.”
The overwhelming desire to do your own thing is a problem amongst a lot of people.
Jesus’ heart was to do the will of the father – above all else – so there was no struggle. We struggle because we still want to do our own will.
In Hebrews 12:2 It says “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; WHO FOR THE JOY THAT WAS SET BEFORE HIM endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. The joy set before Him was that He saw beyond the immediate and His suffering and saw the end goal … that we would all have the ability to choose to serve God and be covered by the blood of Jesus.
What is acceptable to God? BELIEVE!
Walking with the Lord is much simpler than we think it is. We just have to choose to BELIEVE.
