Subject:
- Once you recognize you’re a sinner don’t get stuck there. You can get mopey and depressed and have a pity party or you can repent and move forward by faith in Christ Jesus.
- Examine yourself to see where you fall short… by His standard, not your own idea of judging your “goodness”.
- What does it look like to be a believer? The Bible says in Mark 16:17 “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” If these signs are not following you, you need to examine yourself and move by faith. - Jesus is the standard or measure. If you don’t measure yourself next to His measure, it does not mean you haven’t been measured.
- Where’s the battle? It’s in our minds. Not our head or brain, our mind is the place where we choose – it is the seat of our will.
- You have to submit fully to His will and His ways.
- How often are we hit with the prayer in the garden “Not my will but thy will be done”? What choice do we make? To do it our way, have our agenda, or do it His way?
- The key is to do the will of the Father.
- If you love me, keep my commandments.
- Cease from sin means to cease from unbelief.
- If you line up your will with His will there is no conflict.
- Set our minds to be in league with His mind.
- Anything that is not of faith is sin.
- If He has given you something to do then you are able to do it.
- Doing your own thing leads to stress, discomfort, depression, disaster.
- Doing His will is always good and yields good fruit.
- We get hung up on what we think we can or can’t do. God is able, so we have to get past all the unbelief in our hearts.
God gives us things we can do, He is a righteous God. You have to choose to remember He is righteous and wouldn’t give you anything you couldn’t do and then put off the unbelief and choose to believe.
