Speakers:
- Steven Atherton
- Scott Bishop
Scriptures used:
- Psalm 19
Subject:
- Bringing together 4 men from the ministry in SC and a group of people in VT to help accomplish a task is not necessarily an easy task in the world, however in the Lord it is possible and a blessing.
- The joy of the Lord even in hard work, trying times and lots of change is possible and a true blessing.
- Fellowship and love leads to preaching the Word.
- Despite people buying their own airline tickets and doing hard manual labor for 4 days, there was much rejoicing.
- People who obey those from whom they seek Godly counsel are not in the same place a year or two later.
- When we go through tough times, we remember what really matters. We need to remind ourselves of what really matters all the time rather than waiting on tough times.
- Great is the army that carries out His Word. God is love and anything you do in love is of God.
- People would rather believe something that it is extremely difficult to believe than have faith in Jesus Christ.
- Where is the army of the Lord who will bring light and truth to the lies that people believe?
- People believe lies when the only thing they hear is the lies, they do not hear the truth. This is how Hitler was able to accomplish all he did, because he indoctrinated people with lies until they believed them to be the truth.
- Great is the army that carries out His Word … we need to be like the boy in the story of The Emperor’s New Clothes, speak the truth.
- Speak to the Lord in your language and He will understand you.
- The law of the Lord is perfect converting the soul. It shows us that our law is not perfect.
- The Word of God is true, no man speaks truth unless he speaks the Word of God.
- When you do that which the Lord says, the witness the Lord gives of that obedience can never be taken away from you.
- Fear of the Lord is not something people think much about anymore.
- When you are in fear, your senses are alert. When you do not have fear, you are dull. Jesus says their ears are dull of hearing because they feel secure and have no fear of the Lord.
- Abraham Lincoln’s second inaugural address deals with Psalm 19. He saw the deaths that came on both sides because of our departing from the Lord. He saw the choice we would have to make on both sides to choose to serve the Lord. True and righteous are the judgments of God altogether.
- We are all equal before God, but what we choose to do with that equality is what separates us.
- A former slave went up to receive communion in Church and knelt before God to receive the communion. Robert E. Lee went up next to receive the communion.
- The difference between the slavery David talked about and slavery in America is that David chose to be a slave unto the Lord. He chose to bring himself under submission unto the Lord. The slavery practiced in America was not slavery by choice but by force.
