TFM-TexasSpeakers:

  • Bob Hicks
  • Rick Eutsler, Jr.

Scriptures Used:

  • 1 John 1:5
  • Matthew 14:13-14

Subject:

  • When we focus on ourselves we miss what the Lord has for us.
  • If you find yourself justifying yourself, look within and figure out why.
  • The deceitfulness of sin:  one of the ways it’s deceitful is when we sin and fall we think there is no way we can come back.  That’s a lie and it’s meant to prevent you from attaining that which the Lord has already set in motion for us.  If we will confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us ALL our sins.
  • Gods ways are to do what He says He will do.
  • What Jesus did on the cross was sufficient and is sufficient and we have to choose to believe it and receive it.
  • Key commandments we are called to keep is Love God and love one another.  That’s loving with Agape love, not phelios love.  That means put God first and others before ourselves.
  • Someone who says they’re following the Lord and doesn’t adhere to the basics is a liar.
  • If we find ourselves in that place, we can cry out to God, confess our sins and just as quickly as Jesus reached out His hand to save Peter from sinking in the water, He will do the same for us.
  • If the creator of the universe says you can do a thing (i.e. feed the 5000), then you are able to do that thing.
  • To try and then mess up is not failure, it’s education.
  • God is good and He has not called us to fail.
