  • 1 Samuel 15:10-25

  • Romans 12:1-2
  • Hebrews 12:6
  • 2 Timothy 2:3
  • Matthew 10:22

Subject:

  • Jesus is the Lord of the way I feel.
  • Have you ever asked the Lord to do whatever it takes to bring you to the place He wants you to be.  Were you joyful to see the Lord answer your prayer?
  • If you want a relationship with Jesus you must seek Him.  You must seek Him in order to know what His will is so you can do it.  It is a 24/7 commitment to get to know the Lord.
  • Matthew 7: 21-23.  The criteria of getting into heaven is doing the will of the Father.  Not doing your own will.  If you do not do Gods will but instead do your own it is a recipe for going to hell.  Not doing Gods will is rebellion and pride.  God found pride in His kingdom once and will not have it again!
  • We have only two choices:  To do Gods will or to do your own.
  • Colossians 3:2  ‘Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth’.  Don’t just think about Jesus once in a while, set your affection toward Him and His ways.
  • Everyone that calls Jesus ‘Lord’ has to examine themselves.  Examine yourself if you be in the faith because your heart is a deceitful and wicked thing.  If it can get you to think you are doing right when you are not, it will be happy to do so.  If we don’t allow the examination of our heart we will find ourselves in a lot of trouble.
  • God sees the garbage in our hearts that prevents us from doing what He would have us do and as a loving Father He will correct us.  Hebrews 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth He chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom He receiveth.
  • It is better to hear the truth now and believe it and get ourselves right with God than when it is too late and we miss the boat.  Referring to the story of Noah when the men upon the earth did not believe Noah and at the time God closed the door of the ark it was too late for them.
  • When someone who knows the Lord better than you do tells you that you are not in the right place with God, you need to take it seriously.  When we are confronted about our sins, how we react to it is critical.  Will you take responsibility for it or try to justify yourself?
  • Serving the Lord is about obedience, not about the numbers or the collections that you find in many churches.
  • If we call upon Jesus saying Lord, Lord we acknowledge that He is the master but if we do not walk in His ways we have taken His name in vain.  This applies to everyone who claims to be a Christian.
  • Do we fear men more than we fear God?  We must fear God more than men.  As we see in (1 Samuel 15:24 ) Saul feared the people more than God and it brings severe consequences to Saul as it will to anyone who claims to be a Christian.
