- 1 Timothy 2
Subject:
- We get robbed of all the good things of God because of pride.
- Paul was thankful (1 Timothy 1:12) that it was Christ who enabled him and counted him faithful.
- The call of the Lord is higher than the call to serve the president. Do you see the call of the Lord as higher?
- Every one of us is of the lineage of Paul because he stood when no-one else would.
- Paul accepted that God knew better than he did. He was dead to this world.
- Walking on water (or above the circumstances) is a testimony of Gods miraculous provision to those watching.
- Walk by God’s faith – you will grow in God’s faith by walking in love.
- Serving others is love. Not expecting to be served by others.
- The fact that you’re so bad is what makes God so good. He is able to minister to people and move in spite of you.
- God gives you power to be the sons of God. But the son of God was not loved by the world, so why would you expect to be loved by the world?
- There is no grace or faith in heaven. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. In Heaven you will see, so you don’t need faith. But love and perfect peace are hand in hand.
- Jesus is the ONLY wise God. We are not!
- We need to minister God’s Word to people, not our experience or our opinions.
- Walking in Agape love is what saves.
- You would not be here if you had somehow exhausted the grace the Lord has for you.
- Good warfare is when you win!
- We see only in part what God is doing.
- Brother Davy has stood, for 44 years, for the Lord and stood no matter what. Paul stood and is committing to Timothy to do likewise.
- A good conscience – the most important thing about it is to receive correction.
- In 1 Timothy 1:20 Paul turned Hymenaeus and Alexander over to satan to learn not to blaspheme. He wanted them to get it right.
- Pray for Kings and those in authority because the key is that we will have peace.
- God has a line of authority:
- Jesus
- Apostles (Generals)
- Prophets (Colonels)
- Evangelists (Majors)
- Pastors (Captains)
- Teachers (Lieutenants)
- Jesus
- Jesus is our mediator. Not our minister.
- Paul was an Apostle to the Gentiles.
- Peter was an Apostle to the Jews.
- I seldom pray for 5 minutes, but I seldom go more than 5 minutes without praying.
- To lift up holy hands is a sign of surrender.
- Lord have mercy upon me. I yield up the reigns of my heart unto you. Please take the reigns of my heart and by the power of thy Spirit drive me to the accomplishment of thy will.
- Praying for the destruction of others is not love.
