Subject:

  • The Bible holds the key to life on earth and how we can get to be with the Lord.
  • Jesus died for us on the cross and He beat death and rose again for our sin so we can be one with Him.
  • We are constantly at war (fighting) against our flesh.   The Word is the promise of God that we walk after.
  • When we pray what do we do with the answer we receive?  Do we do what God tells us to do or do we go our own way and get stuck?   It is the choice we have.
  • Why do you hate God?   If you claim to love God, do you do what He says, if you don’t then you don’t love Him.   He died to give us that chance to love Him.   What are you going to do with that opportunity?
  • If you keep His sayings ye shall never see death.  If you love Him you will keep His Words and His Father will love you and they will come and make their abode with you.
  • It seems simple, if you love God you do what He says and keep His commandments, if you hate God you don’t.   “Love the Lord  thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself.”   You need to pass the first part before you can get to the second.  Pray and he will help you get there.
  • The wedding feast is an old Indian custom that a bride had ten virgins to attend to her.   They wait for a long time for the groom so five of them run out of oil and ask the other five to share their oil with them.
  • The bride took the five handmaidens who had oil and went into the chamber.   The bridegroom answered the door and did not know the five who came late, only the bride knew them, so he would not let them in.
  • The story in that is be prepared.  The oil is not the Holy Spirit but faith. They ran out of faith and it was too late to go in because they had not the faith.
  • Kim’s with us today because God allowed Richard to have the faith to rebuke that death that was on her.  The doctors said she would not live through the night.   But he believed God and the Word that if I asked anything in His Name, He would do it, and He healed her.
  • A day will come when we will meet the Lord in the air.  He will not snatch us and draw us up.   Are you going to have the faith to rise up when the Lord comes?   Do you wonder if you will have the faith to turn loose and go?
  • Faith is not something you get and it stays forever.
  • This does not make him special but a believer who chose to believe God’s Word and it’s the same for every believer.   But God’s Word is not a smorgasbord where you can pick and choose what you want to believe.
  • We need faith to hang in in fellowship with brothers and sisters in the Lord even when we don’t feel like it because without fellowship we’re cut off.   And when you’re cut off you’re not His.
  • There are many believers out there that think they can sit by themselves and have fellowship with God.   It doesn’t work that way.   You’re either part of the vine or you’re not part of the vine, you’re either in the vine or you’re not in the vine.
  • Why do you need to be with the body?   Because how else can you work with and against each other to polish what God has for you.   The church is where you get into that divine tumbler of God and He takes the jewels and polishes them.
  • In almost 42 years he can count on one hand people he knows who have believed God and will walk and follow His Word, who will recognize pride and get rid of it.
  • Pride is a killer and if you let pride rule your life you will not have the oil when it’s time.   Spit that crap out rather than swallow your pride.   Get rid of the pride.   Humble yourself.
  • If you do not like someone – so what – nowhere in the Bible does God say you have to like them.   It does say you have to love them. It doesn’t have anything to do with feelings but with that agape love.  You can’t love if you are full of pride, you can love only yourself.
  • If you want the faith to carry on then get rid of the pride and then you will have that oil when you need it.
