Subject:

  • Brother Bob talked about Faith… the word the Lord reminded Bob of during the week.
  • The only way to do the work of the Lord is with faith, without faith we can do nothing.
  • Our faith has to be in Jesus Christ.
  • We put too much faith in things that are not of the Lord.
  • Melanie mentioned that 2 Corinthians 5:14 relates to what Paul spoke about in SC this morning.
  • We’re all dead, condemned in this dead flesh.  If we bind ourselves to that dead flesh we will go to hell for all eternity.
  • There’s one who died for all and gave us the opportunity to choose Him, to choose life.
  • It’s so simple – why not live in Him?  He is the only way, He is life, we have to let go of our sinful nature.
  • If we choose to live in Him, how do we live in Him?
  • This life DOES come with a users manual – it’s called the Bible.  It gives you examples of what to do, what not to do, where we fall short, what it looks like to live in Him.   (Mark 16)
  • Scott once asked Steve if there was one thing that he needed to know or do as a new Christian.  Steve’s response was BELIEVE.
  • If you’re going to call yourself a Christian, faith and belief in Christ is essential.  It’s step #1.
  • John 14:6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
  • When someone asks you something and instead of saying “The Bible says” we say “my preacher says” or “my mother and father say” or “I believe”… you need to think about what you are preaching because it is not a first hand faith.
  • Brother Davy said when he was young in the Lord he was a little weird.  He took the Word of God literally.  He would rather take it literally and be wrong rather than not take it literally and be wrong.
  • He would preach the Gospel to everyone including the animals.
  • The Gospel saves – Jesus Christ died on the cross for you, for me, because we couldn’t do it (or wouldn’t do it) ourselves.
  • AS you go out into the world, preach the Gospel to every creature – pigs, people etc.  Preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ dying on the cross and those that believeth the Gospel of Jesus Christ… it has to be personal.  It can’t be God died for the world, you have to believe He died for YOU!
  • Then you will go forth and be baptized (the three baptisms) 1 John 5:7 and Matthew 28:19
  • If you do these things you will be saved and these signs shall follow them that believe… Mark 16:17  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;  18  They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
  • Through Jesus Christ I can do all things, and you can do if you will believe.
  • We can take no credit for anything for all the gifts are performed by the Holy Ghost.
  • There are different administrations but the same Lord.
  • Jesus is the head of the body and He administrates His works and will through His people.
  • When you need to use the restroom does your head tell your feet you need to go and your feet say “I don’t feel like it, it’s too much work”?  Jesus is the head of the body and He commands the body to do certain things and although you may not know why He wants you to do it (it may be inconvenient even), but if you don’t do it, the body suffers.
  • The Bible talks about the body being fitted together.  The brain communicates to the body through the nervous system.  There’s a hierarchy in the nervous system and you can see by looking at how the nerves connect to the brain how God has set up His line of authority.  Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Preachers, Teachers.
  • If you tell God you’re willing to listen and anything He tells you to do you’ll do it … then trust Him.
  • The authority in the Lord gives you something to do and you don’t do it, it’s like having your spinal cord severed.  When you don’t obey those in authority because you don’t understand it’s coming from the administrator then the body becomes as a paraplegic and can do nothing.
  • Jesus is the administrator of one operation… the operation the Father gave Him to do.  But God the Father can command and do anything that is His will.  Because maybe there’s not an apostle in a neighborhood where somebody needs healing, did we not read if you are baptized with those 3 baptisms you are saved but if not you are damned?  Do you think God will let them sit out there by themselves and not receive because there is no apostle?  He’s going to bring the Holy Spirit down or send some little person and send them.  God can do through His operations all of His will.
  • The manifestation of the spirit (tongues, prophecy, healing, deliverance) is given to every man to profit withal (to profit others).  If I have a word of prophecy it’s not for me, it’s for you.
  • Believe the Gospel.  That’s what we need to work at.
