TFM-Northfield-VermontSpeakers:

  • Steven Atherton
  • Robin Atherton

Scriptures used:

  • 2 Peter 1

Subject:

  • We are members one of another in the Body of Christ.  We can’t do those things perfectly that the Lord would have us do.
  • We need each other.
  • We are to love one another as we love ourselves.
  • If we don’t love ourselves, how can we love one another?
  • If I don’t love you I can’t get there.  If you don’t love me you won’t get there.
  • Where is the testimony of the Word in your life?  Man is a disaster.  We begin life knowing how to do wrong.
  • Man in his best state is altogether vanity.  Yet people join with the government and the world because they don’t know the truth.
  • They gravitate to those who are “smart” even though they know it isn’t right.
  • Is your testimony of overcoming?  Paul and Moses were living testimonies.  We can walk likewise.
  • If that’s not for today, why are we wasting the time?
  • We can rejoice in Him if we walk and declare His victory in our lives.
  • We win every day and stand in Christ Jesus.  Do the ministry of God, not our own.
  • Yesterday’s mistakes are not held against me.
  • So-called Christians think they are okay, they don’t see the bondage they are in, that they were born that way.
  • Man’s heart is desperately wicked.  We need to realize this and ask the Lord for mercy.
  • Peter:  he was an apostle and servant of God.  He was not his own man.  He laid his whole life down.
  • Like precious faith:   as the apostles.  Do we have like precious faith?
  • Through faith we have the citizenship document for the kingdom of God.  We can partake in everything He has for us.
  • We can never feel good about ourselves, we look horrid, it’s the way it is.  We need the family of God.
  • We are to focus on Him, so what if our sin shows.  Grace covers our sin.
  • Peace is the cessation of war between us and God.
  • The carnal mind wants to lust.  It no longer rules you when you subject yourself unto Jesus.
  • All diligence:  do we ever do this in our day?  ALL diligence?
  • Virtue:  taking our place in the body of Christ and walking it out in His power, not our own.
  • Knowledge:  recognize others are struggling, and be aware of attacks, drive the enemy back.
  • Temperance:  are you moved by the natural or by the spirit of God?
  • Patience:  mustard seed type of faith.  Stand always knowing by faith that God is with you.  You will prevail even though you die.  (Look at Stephen being stoned).
  • Godliness is the divine nature of God, minister to others with God’s nature.  It is not done in this earthen vessel, but by the power of God.
  • We love those that are without because we want them to come to the knowledge of the truth.
  • Our joy is full when we are with the brethren, and ministering unto them.
  • The person receiving the most is the minister.
